:: Finally: We're going international!
After a year and a half of keeping German and German-speaking fans up-to-date about Real Madrid and former Borussia Dortmund centre-back Christoph Metzelder, we thought it was high time we started to satisfy the need for information of our many international visitors as well.
As of today – fittingly, the day of the EURO 2008 final – www.metzelder-fc.de is available in both German and English. Apart from information on Christoph Metzelder, you'll find news, fixtures, press clippings, facts about our fan club and how to join us, and a message board for international users. You can switch between languages by using the links on the home page.
A big "thank-you" goes to Birgit, who has been working night and day to translate the original site to English. We hope you'll like the new website and look forward to reading your comments!

:: Germany face Spain in EURO final
Sunday night's clash with Spain is a EURO dream come true for German defender Christoph Metzelder who is looking forward to meeting his Real Madrid teammates Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos on the pitch. While Metzelder does admit that the DFB-team seems to be the underdog at the Ernst Happel stadium in Vienna, he is absolutely sure of one thing: the Germans are willing – and able – to take home the cup and make themselves European Champions.
Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings has recovered from a rib injury and will be ready to face the Spaniards right from the kickoff, whereas Luis Aragonés will likely have to replace his injured top scorer David Villa. Simon Rolfes, who had to be stitched together after suffering an eyebrow cut in the match against Turkey should be fit by Sunday, although chances are that he'll be warming the bench.
Whatever the outcome on Sunday night, Monday will see two things: a gigantic fan party at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin with the national team expected to arrive at 2:30 pm – and a finally beardless Christoph Metzelder who will have a close shave in public.
